BASIC UNITY PRINCIPLES - #3

I would like to talk about the Basic Unity Principles today, as I have done for last two weeks. There are 5 of them and they are:

  1. There is only one Presence and one Power active as the universe and as my life, God the Good.
  2. Our essence is of God; therefore, we are inherently good. This God essence was fully expressed in Jesus, the Christ.
  3. We are co-creators with God, creating reality through thoughts held in mind.
  4. Through prayer and meditation, we align our heart-mind with God. Denials and affirmations are tools we use.
  5. Through thoughts, words and actions, we live the Truth we know.

So, I'm going to be covering these for the next three weeks, one principle a week.

CO-CREATORS WITH GOD
Let's talk about the third principle today. We are co-creators with God, creating reality through thoughts held in mind. On the children's poster it is stated this way: I create my experiences by what I choose to think and what I feel and believe.

So we create our experiences by the activity of our thinking. Everything in the material world has its beginning in thought.

Jesus tells us in (John 14:12) Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.a

So as we come to believe, and to understand the first two principles, we begin to see that we contain the very essence of love and abundance and that we cannot possibly fail.

We know that there is only one power in this universe and it is God and it's good. We are connected to the Source of all things. We are extensions of God. And we can tap into that power and that wisdom and that guidance of God any time we choose.

Do you really realize how powerful you are? The abilities of the Christ live within you. What an awesome responsibility we have. If we can truly do all the works that Jesus did, and more, then we need to get real. Because we are co-creators with God. We can not only change our lives but we can change our world.

(Matthew 7:7-8) Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.b

We're being told to be co-creators. Ask for what you want to be given. Search for what you need and you'll find it. Knock and the door will be open for you. Where would you like to go? God wants us to co-create It. For everyone who asks receives, everyone who searches finds, and everyone who knocks finds the door open for them.

MIND CREATES
So this is Principle Three. Our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs have the power to create our reality. And while this principle is stated as "co-creators with God", as with any principle, this law also works for those with no concept of God. Like any universal law, it is in effect for everyone, the same way, all the time.

It wasn't only Jesus that stated this principle. The Buddha said 2500 years ago, "All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him."c

Charles Fillmore writes in the book Christian Healing, "Divine Mind expresses its Word, and through the activity of that Word the universe is brought forth. Man is the consummation of the Word, and his spirit has within it the concentration of all that is contained within the Word."d

We can understand the creative process by analyzing the actions of our own mind. First is mind, then the idea in mind of what the act shall be, then the act itself.

God being perfect, His idea, thought, and Word, must be perfect. The perfect Word of God is spiritual man. It is through spiritual man, or the Word of God, that all things are made, are brought into manifestation.

The creations of the Word of God are permanent and incorruptible. As an imitator of Divine Mind, man has power to form and make manifest whatsoever he idealizes; but unless his thought is unified with Divine Mind and guided in its operations by infinite wisdom, his thought forms are perishable.

We cannot know how the thought, or Word, works except through our own consciousness; consequently we must understand, control, and put in order our own word, for through it we comprehend the Word of God. Our most important study, then, is our own consciousness. The old Greeks recognized this and wrote over the door of one of their temples: "Man, know thyself."

The self of man is spiritual, and when it is in direct conscious unity with the parent Mind it has permanent formative power. Even in his ignorant use of thought, man's mind is forming conditions, even to the changing of the face of nature itself. Every thought that goes forth from the brain sends vibrations into the surrounding atmosphere and moves the realm of things to action.

(Matthew 12:36-37) says, You will have to give an account for every careless word you utter; for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.e

Every word has its effect, though unseen and unrecognized. A close observation of the power of mind in the affairs of the individual proves this to be true. What we think, we usually express in words; and our words bring about, in our life and affairs, whatever we put into them.

Kathy Chruma writes, "Sometimes the "gift" comes in the most unexpected form such as a flat tire in a foreign country. Think about this...

"I was traveling to a foreign country by myself with some fear around what might happen to me as a woman alone. Would I be able to support myself? Would I be OK if something happened since I could not speak the language? Well, I got what I asked for...a flat tire showed up and I had a choice at that moment to go into all the fear or to deal with the situation...

"I believe that because I was somewhat afraid about being alone, and being in Mexico alone it also struck other deep fears, so I got what I was thinking and worrying about. I was definitely the co-creator. All things turned out great and everyone was very kind and helpful to me, unlike what I had expected. I looked at that experience and realized how powerful our minds really are. "f

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION
So, whatever you focus on, you draw to you. God makes no judgments. If you are focused on something you do not desire, you will attract more of the same to you. If you are focused on something you do want, you will attract more of that to you.

Think carefully about your life and choose what you desire to be in harmony with. The choice is yours so choose wisely.

Principle 3 is working in your life right now, whether you are aware of it or not. You are attracting the people, situations, jobs, prosperity and much more into your life. Being aware of this principle and how it works, you can start to use it to deliberately attract what you desire into your life.

You must be very clear about exactly what your desire is. Then focus on it and give it all your positive energy; feel good about it.

A major part of this third principle is visualization. Visualize your desires in great detail and combine that with feeling. What will it feel like when you have this thing? That energy and the vibration of our emotions and feelings allow us to attract into our experience that with which we are in vibrational resonance. Any thought that you visualize, when combined with emotion, vibrates out from you to the universe and attracts back what you held in thought.

But basically, you can leave all the details to the universe. Just be open to receive and let the universe figure out how, figure out the method of delivery, how it will accomplish it and when we will receive it. All you have to do is to allow it to happen. Sounds easy, right? It is if you get out of your own way. Let go and have no doubts. Then all you need to do is expect it and receive it; allow it. Act as if you already have it. And be grateful.

Gratitude opens your heart and prepares you to receive. By giving thanks, you disengage the panel of judges in your head and you come from a place of joy. Then you are free and aligned with the gift of the experience - that's what life is about.

Auntie Mame said "Life is a banquet and too many fools are still starving."ag Many, many experiences are presented and you get to choose the ones that are most desirable to you and leave the rest, which allows you to remain in a state of Joy and to lead with a grateful heart.

You can come into harmony with your essence and the universe's vision for your life when you can detach from the conditions of your life by appreciating all of them - the good and the seemingly not so good. Even circumstances that are out of sync with your expectations will lose their labels of bad under the loving rays of the grateful heart. Please understand that you choose to judge an event as good or bad, but simply put it's just an experience.

If you want more of something in your life, be grateful for what you have right now. Adopt an attitude of gratitude and allow your good to flow to you.

But I'm not implying that you should just sit there and wait. Always take inspired action. If something feels right, then go ahead and do it. Taking action is a very important and essential step in creating the good you want.

SEVEN STEPS
So there are seven steps to remember when co-creating with God:

1. is to ask. Ask with as much clarity as you possibly can. Declare it, and feel good about it.

2. Is to be open to the answer. The universe, or God answers every time. The universe will do this. You don't have to do it. And you do not need to know how! The universe knows how, God knows how, and it knows the fastest, shortest way.

3. Is to be open to receive. Bring yourself into alignment with what you desire so that you will know when the answers are coming. Stay in curiosity and out of judgment. God may surprise you with the manner in which your answers appear. Be willing to receive.

4. Tell everyone your intention.

5. Don't sit back waiting for a lightning bolt from above. Continue to take inspired action.

6. Connect deeply with everyone and look at each encounter as a possibility for an opportunity. Give up judgment and have total and complete acceptance that everything is perfect.

7. Play the perfect game. Trust that everything is unfolding perfectly as it is meant to. Whatever is offered, take it. Whatever is suggested, do it. And whatever happens, declare it perfect. Be a Yes to Life.

That's it! Always be expectant of good things, follow your heart's desire and feel good knowing your desires are on their way to you.

Just hold on to the thoughts you want. Your thoughts become things. Or you could state it this way: thoughts held in mind produce after their kind. So, you see, you become what you think about, and you attract what you think about. You're a magnet and you draw to you whatever you think and believe.

Thoughts cause feelings and feelings are the powerhouse to your creation. Your feelings are your guidance system, and they provide you with the energy to co-create with God. The better you feel the more on track you are with what you desire to manifest and the more important it is to choose joy each day and have a grateful heart. The feeling creates the attraction.

Then the visualization, the inner seeing with the feeling is the open doorway to all that your heart desires. It's important to visualize in great detail as though you have already manifested what you desire. The addition of the visualization to the thoughts and the feelings creates an unstoppable energy. You can be assured that this combination will manifest your desires. What you think and feel and manifest are all connected. So be awake and in tune with the universe and God's will.

We are co-creators with God, creating reality through thoughts held in mind. When we know and practice this with integrity then we will be contributing to a world that we can turn over to our grandchildren with pride. Let it be your way.
